الدكتور محمد حسين القحطاني هو مؤسس مركز التميز البحثي في علوم الجينوم الطبي ويشغل حالياً منصب مدير المركز . حصل الدكتور / محمد القحطاني على درجة البكالوريوس من جامعة الملك عبد العزيز في عام 1989م في تخصص علوم التقنيات الطبية . ثم سافر بعدها للخارج ليحصل على دبلومة الدراسات العليا في مجال التكوين الخلوي الاكلينيكي من معهد مشنير لعلوم الصحة التطبيقية بتورنتو بكندا في عام 1992م . وفي عام 1994م نال الدكتور القحطاني الرخصة الدولية للتكوين الخلوي الاكلينيكي من الولايات المتحدة الامريكية – ميريلاند ، ثم توج الدكتور محمد القحطاني مجهوده العلمي بحصوله على درجة الدكتوراه في عام 1999م من معهد أبحاث السرطان بجامعة شيفيلد بالمملكة المتحدة في مجال التخليق والتشخيص الخلوي الاكلينيكي .
واصل الدكتور القحطاني بجانب مسؤولياته الإدارية نشاطه العلمي الدؤوب ، وله مالا يقل عن اربعون بحثاً منشوراً في مجلات عالمية في مجال تخصصه . كما أنه دعي إلى القاء محاضرات في أكثر من خمسون مؤتمراً وجامعة ، كما أنه قام بكتابة أكثر من فصل في كتب علمية في مجال تخصصه. هذا إضافة إلى أن الدكتور القحطاني عضواً بارزاً في أكثر من ثمانية جمعيات علمية دولية في مجال التخصص . كما منح الدكتور محمد القحطاني العديد من الجوائز تقديراً لدوره الدؤوب والنشط منها جائزة اكاديمية العلوم للتميز من اكاديمية العلوم بالولايات المتحدة الامريكية في عام 2004م . حالياً يقود الدكتور القحطاني فريق علمي على درجة عالية من التميز ومكون من حوالي 17 باحثاً في مجالات مختلفة في أبحاث العلوم الطبية بمركز التميز البحثي في علوم الجينوم الطبي... المزيد من التفاصيل
