Abstract : In this work, we introduce new reduction and torsion codes over various subrings of the ring Z4 +ωZ4 with ω2 = 2+2ω. Using Gau map φ, various DNA codes that satisfy reverse and reverse-complement constraints are given. We also define Gau distance distributions over the ring R and find them for simplex codes and Reed-Muller codes. Considering Gau distance, Sphere packing bound is established over the ring Z4 + ωZ2 where ω2 = 0. In addition to this, optimal codes are provided with respect to Singletonlike bound.
