المستخلص : The concern for implementation of infect ion control procedures in dental clinics is world wide. The main objective of this study was to evaluate knowledge, attitude and behavior of dental health workers (DHCWs) towards infection control procedures in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A randomized survey involving DHCWs from various dental care centers was evaluated by means of self-reported questionnaires. Compliance with universal infection control measures was assessed. The answers revealed that majority of DHCWs take good physical barrier precautions and most of them agree of the importance of disinfecting items going to and coming from laboratory. However, majority of responders reported no to use biological indicators for autoclave monitoring and there is almost generalized responses of lack of knowledge and availability of a post exposure plan. Recommendations of organizing educational and training programs of internationally accepted infection control measures in dental clinics as well as enforcing the implementation of such measures in Saudi Arabia are drawn.
