A regislry is an organization that performs the process of registration and it is either disease specific or target specific. While the main targets of hospital based registries are health care planning and assessment of medical performance. tbe main targets of popolation based registries are monitoring trend of disease morbidity and mortality within the population concerned and comparing this Ireod with other populations of similar demographic characteristics. Both types of registries can provide a vast amount of data base to perform various types of epidemiological researcbes. Quatity control and quality improvement of a registry is initially and continuously mandatory throughout regislration.
