THE TRAINING NEEDS FOR KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS IN JEDDAH IN LIGHT OF THE PROFESSIONAL LICENSE STANDARDS

Abstract : The study aims to uncover the training needs for kindergarten teachers in Jeddah in Jeddah in light of the professional license standards: (partnership with family and community standard, child health and safety standard, professional development standard), using descriptive analytical method. Study tools included e-questionnaire, study population consisted of (462) public female kindergarten teachers in Jeddah, using a random sample of (236) teachers. Data were collected and results were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using frequencies, percentages, arithmetic means, and standard deviations. T-test for independent samples and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were also used. There were a number of results, the most important of which are: Knowledge level of kindergarten teachers of standard of partnership with family and community in general was average, with an arithmetic mean of (2.29), Knowledge level of kindergarten teachers about health and safety of the child in general standard was high, with an arithmetic mean of (2.56), Knowledge level of kindergarten teachers of professional development standard in general was high, with an arithmetic mean of (2.48), and the study also proved that there were no statistically significant differences at significance level (0.05) or less in knowledge levels of the standards of specialized occupational license due to the variable of academic qualification and variable of training courses, years of experience variable, graduation date variable, and there is a statistically significant difference between female teachers’ responses in knowledge levels of the partnership standard with family and community due to the variable of training courses in favor of female teachers who didn’t attend training courses, and the year of graduation in favor of female graduates of 1432AH and prior. In light of the results, the study recommends the a partnership contract between universities and kindergartens to provide teachers with the results of scientific research, especially those dealing with professional licensing standards, and the need to adopt a communication process between the training unit and teachers to know their needs and meet them.
