Abstract |

This study addresses the efforts of Ahmed Ben Yahia AL-Dabey (died in 599H/ 1202) in the historical research through his book:"the Petitioner wish in the history of the people of Andalusia", applying historical research contains an introduction original related sources. This research contains an introduction indicating the subject of study and importance, inaddition to studying some resources and references which have been reliable , and a brief prelude about both the political and cultural life in Andalusia during the second half of the sixth century AH.
Furthermore this study includes six chapters in which the Dabey's efforts are displayed in the historical research through the historical book: the petitioner wish", and then a conclusion which clarifies most distinct results of this study .
The study concludes that Ahmad Bin Yahya Ahmed bin Amira Bin Yahya was born between (550 AH-556 AH), and he grew up in Murcia and studied by many scientists of Andalusia. Then ,he moved to the Orient for pilgrimage and demand for education. He got certificates from many scientists in the Orient (579 AH).
The study revealed that the issue engaged in teaching, and taught many students. He published many books. However, those books were lost except for: the petitioner wish in the history of the people of Andalusia.
The study showed the scientific value of the historical varied subject which the book included; especially the one related to the era of Murabitun and Almohads. Besides, the writer covered a rich literal and geographical article.
Al-Dabey referred to many different resources. The comparisons revealed that Al-Dabey relied on sources more than others, and then on the oral novel.
The study showed that the Al-Dabey used a clear method in using resources and diversification.
However, the historians of his time found out that its presence and commitment do not lose the significance that Al-Dabey In his book provided us with a historic publication supported by a systematic basis. Moreover, it showed the impact of Al-Hadeeth scientists in documenting the history of men in Andalusia. The study showed that Al-Dabey adopted in his critic method many bases most important of which were his reliance on the personal opinion in the evaluation of the events and personalities that he witnessed in accordance with the nature of the scientific subject, or the position of the scientific translator .
The study, affirmed that that Al-Dabey was characterized by neutrality, objectivity and scientific integrity I his book. On the other hand some historical and methodological findings have been discovered in the petitioner wish.
The study pointed out that the petitioner wish found more care by the modern historians than historians of his time so that it became a historical source that can not be excluded from any researcher in the history of Andalusia |
