Abstract : The obective of the present work is to study the possibility of involved neurotransmitters in the CNS side effects due to the administration of gatifloxacin and ciprofloxacin in male albino rat. The symptoms recorded were typically to GABA-receptors antagonistic. The effect observed included declared inhibition of glutamic in frontal cortex in both drugs and in hippocampuus post ciprofloxacin administration. AchE activity was increased in cortex and decreased in hippocampus tissues in both drugs tested groups
