Abstract : The present experiment was conducted to determine the effect of garlic oil on serum and tissue carbohydrate of alloxan diabetic male albino rats. The results were compared with aknown hypoglycemic drug, glibenclamide. The beneficial hypoglycemic effects of garlic oiul and glibenclamide were associated with the obvious amelioration in islet B-cells which led to the imorovement in insulin and glucose levels.
