Abstract : The influence of ionizing radiation on the growth of apple mycoflora and so the putalin production was investigated. Six strains fungal isolates of Aspergillus flavus, A. fumigates, A. niger, Penicillium expansum,P. funiculosum and P. griseofulum were used. Four doses of gamma radiation were used at (o.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 kg ϒ all of tested fungi were stimulated on Subramanian synthetic medium for biomass and toxin production. While 1-3 KG ϒ inhibit the growth and putalin production. The studies were also carried out to investigate the effect of pre- and post inoculation of both irradiated and non irradiated fungal spores of both irradiated and non irradiated apples. Statistical analysis showed that the necessity of irradiation of apples fruit as fresh as possible followed by good preservation conditions. Thus the effect of irradiation is useful in the apple mycoflora not in the apple itself. The determination of D10 values of ϒ irradiation stated that P. expansum was more radio-resistant than P. funiculosum. The effect of ϒ irradiation on the morphological changes in shape of mycelium and on the sporulation of the two tested strains were investigated by scanning electron microscope. The results showed that at 0.5 KG ϒ no observable changes can be detected but 1.0-3.0 KG ϒ and more caused a remarkable changes on disappearance of phialids and the ability to form condition
