Abstract : The cycloaddition of the ethoxycarbonylformonitrile N-arylimides2 to benzylideneacetone afforded two regioisomers, 5-acetyl- and 4-acetyl-dihydropyrazole but the cycloaddition of 2 to benzoylactoneafforded two regioisomers, 4-acetyl- and 4-benzoylpyrazole.
