Abstract : The coastal areas are rich sources of food, energy, minerals and this is primary sources of livelihood for a large part of the world population, in spite of that, economic development and rapid population growth and migration from within the dry to the coastal areas have increased pressure on the upstream port, and today there are references to the problems of many coastal areas in the developing world have led to a decline in productivity and shrink the environmental factors. This research covered the sources and distributions and changes of different forms of compounds of heavy metals associated with sediments in the coastal areas of contaminated and uncontaminated along the coast of Jeddah. The use of sediment responsible for the cases of the water system. The concentration of pollutants in sediments and used as a means to obtain clear evidence of water-associated, as a result of population increase, and the intensity of the industry, the municipality and the flow of sediment into the marine environment. The risk of pollution has become one of the most problems in the coastal zone. The changes side effects can help in the recruitment of local sources of pollution, degree and kind, and such pollution has become a dangerous violation of the public health as a result of the entry of these pollutants series of our food, and as a result of the accumulation of pollutants and deposited in bottom sediments, these pollutants quickly liberated and released to the sea and concentrated in marine organisms and is found in the human food chain becomes a danger to health. This study shows the deposits of the coastal area in Jeddah that the rich deposits of sand and carbonate is the most spread, as it did in non-oxidizing sediments are distributed, the few items as in the iron and aluminum are linked to mud sediment.
