Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Ansari

Assistant of Proteomics Service Unit
Pharmacogenomics Research Group

Dr. Ansari joined Center of Excellence in Genomic and Medicine Research as an Assistant Professor in 2011. His doctoral research was focused on comparative studies of soluble and immobilized β galactosidases and their optimization in relation to various physico-chemical parameters for large scale production of lactose-free dairy products. Currently, Dr. Ansari is developing techniques for the rational synthesis of functional nanomaterials for applications in enzyme immobilization, drug delivery systems and construction of biosensors. His research work centers around manipulating the surface of nanomaterials to elicit control over protein adsorption as well as cell adhesion, orientation and function, in order to obtain an efficient and controlled “nanoparticle based drug delivery systems” for treating various biological disorders. Moreover, he is involved in “Proteomics Service Unit” to provide state of art proteomics research and services to researchers and private companies in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
