King Abdulaziz University Signs A Contract to Establish Specialized Medical Laboratories "Ro'ya"

 
   

  The King Abdulaziz University (KAU) signed a collaborative contract with AstraZeneca, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, to establish Specialized Medical Laboratory services at the King Abdulaziz University hospital called "RO'YA". It's part of the initiative executed by the KAU, for providing specialized medical laboratory services in line with Kingdom's vision 2030.

The KAU was represented by the vice president for post graduate studies and scientific research, Professor Yousuf Al Turki, at the contract signing ceremony, whereas, AstraZeneca was represented by company's director Mr. Ismail Shahada. The main objective of the contract was to establish a reference facility for specialized breast cancer testing at KAU.

KAU vice president for post graduate studies and scientific research praised the efforts made by both sides to come out with such an agreement that serves the very fundamental principle of Kingdom's vision of taking new initiatives to diversify economy by providing specialized medical laboratory services. The outcomes of such initiative is monitored by Saudi ministry of education and ministry of planning and finance, that ensure the progress and successful establishment of such medical based services in academic based medical institutions such as the university hospitals across the entire Kingdom. This initiative would allow King Abdulaziz University hospital to develop and transfer quality services and excellent patient care making it a benchmark in the Middle East.
