Prof. Ali Mobasheri was graduated with B.Sc. (Honors), Biochemistry Associate of the Royal College of Science in Imperial College, London and the Royal College of Science in London, UK, 1990.

Later on, he obtained the M.Sc. degree in Physiology & Biochemistry in Univeristy of Toronto, Canada, 1993 and PhD in Physiological Sciences (Cellular & Molecular Physiology) from Wolfson College University of Oxford, UK, 1997. Prof. Ali Mobasheri is currently a Professor of Musculoskeletal Physiology and Pharmacology in University of Bradford, UK and also an Associate Professor and Reader in Comparative Physiology, School of Veterinary Medicine and Science at University of Nottingham, UK. Among his current affiliations are: Member of the University of Nottingham's Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body (AWERB) and the EU strategy group, Co-ordinator of the EU FP7 funded D-BOARD consortium, and Editorial board. He is also a member of the following International Journals, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Histology and Histopathology Cellular and Molecular Biology, The Veterinary Journal, Journal of Applied Bioscience, Current Rheumatology Reviews, Frontiers in Bioscience, Frontiers in Physiology, World Journal of Stem Cells , World Journal of Orthopaedics, etc.).

Dr Mobasheri has a number of recent Patents on Regenerative Medicine and Biomarker. Dr. Mobasheri's main research background is on cartilage biology in the context of ageing, inflammation and disease. Among these are Proteomic studies on the secretome and identification of novel biomarkers of osteoarthritis, characterisation of nutritional supplements and nutraceuticals for osteoarthritis, Inflammatory and apoptotic signalling pathways in chondrocytes, tenocytes and bone-derived cells, glucose transport and metabolism in articular cartilage, expression and functional regulation of the channelome in chondrocytes, and tissue distribution of aquaporin water channels.

Dr. Ali Mobasheri 's professional achievement is backed up by 144 primary peer-reviewed publications in prestigious scientific journals, 20 book chapters and ongoing collaborative research with industry and leading academic investigators in established international centres of excellence in Europe and the United States.
