CEGMR offers a comprehensive, rigorous and advanced training program to physicians, medical laboratory technologists and students in the field of clinical cytogenetics, molecular cytogenetics and medical molecular genetics.
We in addition provide training in new avenues of genetic diagnosis like fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique.
Aim and Objectives:
To make sure that participants understand and well trained on the following aspects:

cellular and molecular human genetics |
 |
chromosome karyotyping techniques |
|
DNA/RNA analysis |
|
Sequencing and its importance in mutation detection |
|
Bioinformatics and its need in medical research |
|
FISH technique and its importance and use in modern medical practice |
|
|
Program Requirements:
The applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
|
Be a Saudi citizen and/or possess valid Iqama |
|
Hold a Bachelor degree from the College of Medicine, Applied Medical Sciences or equivalent |
|
Should have acquired a ‘Good’ grade |
|
Should qualify the interview |
|
Possess proficiency in English but is not an absolute requirement |
|
Submit required course fee |
|
Comply with overall rules and regulations of the KAU |
