Dr. Usama is currently working as associate professor in the Department of Marine Chemistry, Faculty of Marine Sciences, KAU, Jeddah. He did his masters and Ph.D from Cairo University, Egypt in the field of organic chemistry and marine chemistry respectively. His current research interests are to find out novel antibiotics active against multi-drug resistant Gram-negative bacteria from marine sources. He published more than 25 research papers in international journals.
